Joint Disease and Osteoarthritis (OA)

We approach the pathophysiology and treatment of orthopedic disease from a 'One Health' perspective, studying joint disease in horses, dogs, and humans with the goal of benefiting both veterinary and human patients alike.  Current efforts focus on evaluating the horse as a translational model for human intra-articular fracture and the dog as a translational model for human anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury with the goal of identifying conserved and robust biomarkers and therapeutic targets for OA.
